Theater Event: “Easter Sunday” by Carolyn Gage

Carolyn Gage’s very latest one-act play! Easter Sunday is a brand-new play, and the playwright and Boston actress Julia Reddy (currently touring in The Second Coming of Joan of Arc) will be reading it. Audience members are invited to give feedback, becoming part of the new-play process!
The play is set in New York in 1960, and it is about Marty Mann, the lesbian who founded the National Council on Alcoholism and who was “the” national spokesperson and public face of alcohol awareness for decades. In 1960 she relapsed. This is a play about lesbians in the 1950’s, about Cherry Grove and Fire Island, about recovery, and about love. It’s also about the tensions between working class dykes and upper middle class “passing” lesbians. The play breaks all kinds of new ground. This is going to be a very exciting reading.

Book you room today! Carolyn’s prior theatre weekends have all sold out. You do not want to miss this opportunity to experience Carolyn’s truly remarkable work.
