Singer-songwriters Tammy Laforest and Jeana Marie come together in this emerging Providence based acoustic duo known as Tammy & Jeana. The couple performs upbeat familiar pop songs ranging from folk, classic rock, R&B, and more. Matched with their original love songs and witty stage banter, the pair continues to connect and enchant diverse audiences all over New England. Since meeting and forming the group in 2016, the duo has been featured at a number of LGBT focused regional events including Rhode Island Pride, The Goddess Show (an annual music festival celebrating women in the arts), and Bar Harbor Pride. With Tammy’s award winning and powerfully expressive vocals and Jeana’s seasoned and unique guitar stylings, the couple puts on a smooth listening and harmonic performance.

LA WOOD, 2013 WINNER MALIBU MUSIC AWARDS BEST FEMALE POP ARTIST learned the basics of music on piano in second grade and shortly thereafter, the 4 string guitar from a flea market, to the rhythms and tunings of 6 and 12 String guitar. Influenced primarily by Joni Mitchell and Leo Kottke, she also became an accomplished Latin Percussionist after a brief collaboration with Brazil 66 in NYC. She studied Vocal Jazz at UMASS Amherst and music at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she began her professional music career.

She has been a studio musician for Indie and award winning Folk records and has accompanied and collaborated with numerous musicians across the USA and in Europe. In Boston, she won an Acoustic Underground Artist award for her Latin inspired trio. After recording her self-produced acclaimed CD retitled “I AM YOUR LOVER”, she was hired as a regular Beach Bar Entertainer at The Pier House Resort and the Blue Heaven Restaurant in Key West, Florida a starting place for Jimmy Buffet. There she learned Harmonica and wrote and arranged over 200 cover songs.

She coined her sound “Conch Rock” and soon earned recognition as a popular tourist attraction that caught the eye of Malibu Music Festival and Awards Producers in Malibu, California where she won the award for Best Pop Female Artist. She loves all forms of Roots Rock, Jazz, Reggae and Classic Pop Artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Annie Lennox, Van Morrison, the Beach Boys, the Indigo Girls and Reggae Masters Bob Marley, and Jimmy Cliff.

Theater Event: "Easter Sunday" by Carolyn Gage

Carolyn Gage’s very latest one-act play! Easter Sunday is a brand-new play, and the playwright and Boston actress Julia Reddy (currently touring in The Second Coming of Joan of Arc) will be reading it. Audience members are invited to give feedback, becoming part of the new-play process!
The play is set in New York in 1960, and it is about Marty Mann, the lesbian who founded the National Council on Alcoholism and who was “the” national spokesperson and public face of alcohol awareness for decades. In 1960 she relapsed.This is a play about lesbians in the 1950’s, about Cherry Grove and Fire Island, about recovery, and about love. It’s also about the tensions between working class dykes and upper middle class “passing” lesbians.The play breaks all kinds of new ground. This is going to be a very exciting reading.

The Wellfleet Womyn is a native of Cape Cod. She has been writing and performing music throughout the United States, Canada and Costa Rica. She has recorded four albums and is in the studio with her newest CD. She has been featured on television as well as radio.
The Wellfleet Womyn is often described as a quiet woman but explodes with power as she captivates audiences with her gift for writing. She opens the hearts of all who hear her. It is apparent only seconds into her recording “Places of the Heart” that a new journey has begun and a passion has taken hold of each song on her twelve track project of original folk music with a hint of rock. She has been heard internationally on various radio stations in New Zeland, England and Costa Rica.
